Library Skills
We were learning about Authors and Illustrators last term. This term we are learning about Fiction and Non-Fiction. We are learning to remember those important words by thinking that Fiction stories are like Fairy tales and not really true, and Non-Fiction are not like Fairy tales, they are true. Here we are in the Non-Fiction part of our fantastic library.
We used some of these Non-Fiction books when we were thinking and learning about Pets and how to care for them.
We also used some of these Non-Fiction books when we were learning to be Scientists.
Guy Fawkes and Halloween Discovery
On Halloween Day, we had a Discovery morning. In Rooms 3, 4 and 14 we were able to make Halloween activities like bats and spiders. In Rooms 1 and 2 we had Guy Fawkes activities like making special sparkler edible sticks, science experiments, rockets, and fly swot and dish brush paintings. We had a great morning. We had to do at least 1 activity in each room so we were really busy. Here are some of our snaps.

Practising for Cross Country.
When the weather cleared up we were able to go to top field and have a practise at doing the real cross country run. We ran around top field, through the rest area, down through the forest, over the bridge and we got to go through the stream while Jessica and Mrs E watched and helped us. It was really exciting going through the creek,. Then we went up the hill and back around top field. We are really looking forward to the real Cross Country day next Friday afternoon.
We are getting ready to go through the stream.
Here we come!
|
In we go!
Thanks Jessica.:)
Pet Day
We had the most amazing Pet Day thanks to Mrs Bridge. We were allowed to bring our pets to school for judging to see if they really were our Pets and that we could show that we cared for them. There were all sorts of Pets. Birds, rabbits, lambs, calves, dogs and cats.
We also got to make sand saucers, paint rocks or do stitching. We had a great day and some of us got a prize. We all tried hard at all activities and really enjoyed joining in with the rest of the school.

We are looking at Natalie's pet rabbit Ruby. She was cute and we all got to give her a cuddle.
