The Queen's Birthday

Today the Queen came to visit us at our school. We prepared for her visit by making a crown each, flags and party food. Then we all lined up on the netball court. The Queen drove in with her chauffeur. She waved to us. Then we went to the hall where we performed a waiata for her and a jump jam dance. Then we gave the Queen a present and some flowers. We lit her birthday cake and then she blew out the candles , cut the cake and made a wish.  We had such a lovely party and the Queen was so happy that she has given us a holiday on Monday.

A Special Visitor

On Friday 9th, we had a special visitor come to visit Team 1 and Team 2. We waited for a long time and finally... Ronald McDonald arrived with Mrs Bone. He made us laugh lots, but he also taught us about ALWAYS wearing our seat belts and how to cross the road safely. We answered lots of questions and then we sang a song and said a safety poem about crossing the street safely.
How  do we stay safe in our cars?

Crossing the Street Safely

Do you know how to use a pedestrian crossing?
Stop, look and listen, before you cross the street.
Use your eyes, use your ears, before you use your feet!
I wonder where my sock has gone?
We are all going to remember the safety rules that Ronald McDonald taught us.
