Team 1 and 2 Cross Country

We finally had our Cross Country today - even though it was a really cold day. We have been practising for 3 weeks now, so we are all very fit and keen to go. We started with the 5 year old girls and our Jenny came 2nd. Mrs E is really proud of all of us for trying our hardest. Poor Alex had a stubbed toe and he had stopped because his plaster came off. But then he took off and finished the course.
The girls are off. They went really fast and everyone tried really hard.

Off go the boys. They had 20 weetbix each for breakfast, so they had lots of energy!

This is Mrs Irwin's last ever Cross Country at South School. She is funny. We will miss her starting us off.

Pet Day 2015

Mrs Bridge organised another great Pet Day this year. Jenny brought her pet calf ,Robby Bobby, and Kade brought his pet calf, Milo, to be judged. Some of us even brought our pet dogs along. We made sand saucers, painted rocks and dressed our favourite teddy's. It was a wonderful day and everyone really enjoyed meeting the different pets and making pet day creations . Thank you Mrs Bridge.

Shake Out 2015

On Thursday morning at 9.15 am, all of our school along with 1.3 million other people around NZ had a practise  earthquake drill. We had to rush under our tables and hold onto the legs of our tables. After awhile Mr Snell came and told us too assemble at our safe place out on the asphalt. We are getting really good at practising four earthquake drill.

Here we are gathered in our safe place after the drill in our class. Mr Snell was pleased with the way our school "Shake Out" went.
