We are Firewise

Today we had 2 firemen visit us. They were Mr Huxford and Mr Kendrick. They talked to us about being firewise and we did really well and answered all of their questions correctly. Then we pretended to have smoke in our room and we had to get down, get low and get out! We ran to our safe place and the firemen said we were really great Firewise children.
Look at the Firefighters in their safety gear.

Mr Huxford and Mr Kendrick are getting their safety gear on.

We are racing to our safe place.

Even the teachers had to get down, get low and get out.

Here we are getting out under the "Smoke".

We are getting out quickly and safely.

Mr Kendrick is showing us a smoke alarm - they
make such a big noise.

Here is a candle and a candle holder. Be very careful
with candles.Adults must be in charge.

Mr Kendrick showed us a lighter and some matches.
We know these are tools for adults and we must give
them to our parents if we find them.

We told Mr Huxford and Mr Kendrick all of the
safety rules we are learning to be "Firewise".

Our New Programme

This week we have been trying a new classroom programme of "Must Do's" and "Can Do's". We are studying Patterns and Relationships in Maths, Firewise for Topic, Letter "S" for Phonics and we are doing lots of activities about all of those learning areas.

I am learning to make a repeating pattern.

Emma and Miley made this long snake repeating pattern.

Regan can remake our Nursery Rhyme of the week.

Jenson can make this great repeating pattern all on his own.

Deijahn is very clever at making her repeating pattern, saying it and what comes next.

I am building a skyscraper

I am making up our poem of the week.

Look at my repeating pattern!

Do you like my skyscraper?

My repeating pattern looks like a snake!

I can copy this pattern on the card.

Max can copy this repeating pattern and tell us what it is all about.

Look at Liam's repeating pattern on his "Snake".

Dejah is very clever amking this pattern and describing it.
