What a great Education Outside The Classroom Discovery Day

Our excellent Outdoor Education Discovery Day.
"Are the elves in there Mr Koeck?"
Don't drop that egg!
"I hope my hat stays on !"
We are searching for outdoor treasures.
"Gosh this is hard Mrs Irwin. Please show us how to do it!"
"Look I can balance my egg!"
"Here we go Mr Koeck - left, right..."
Here is our plan for the treasures we had to find in the forest.
Wow, did we have fun on Friday. All of Team 1 headed up to the top field to do some excellent learning on our EOTC Discovery Day. We had some very kind helpers including Kyan's Mum, Dani's Grandmother and Mrs Barker.
Mr Koeck had done heaps to help us too. He took all of our equipment up on his trailer - he even removed some of Mrs Bones resources to build her shelters, he is very efficient!
We had 4 activities to do until morning tea. Mrs Bone's groups built shelters from materials found in the environment. Mrs Irwin had an obstacle course that was quite tricky - even Mr Snell tried it out! Miss Hutchings was down at the creek with an activity called "Pooh Sticks" after Winnie the Pooh. We raced each others sticks down the creek. That was such fun. Lucky Miss Hutchings had her gumboots on. And Mrs E had us doing a "Playground Housie" activity in teams where we had to find certain objects in the environment and be first to place them on our cards.
We were very careful to care for our environment and not disturb anything, especially any new plantings of natives that Mr Koeck has done.
We even found a secret door where the elves live. After morning tea we had more fun doing team sports like egg and spoon races, water balloon competitions. Mr Koeck built us some walkers that took 3 people to make them move. That was fun coordinating ourselves to see who could go the fastest. We are looking forward to using those a whole lot more.
The day was perfect, we were all sunsmart and wore our sunhats and we discovered lots in our excellent top field environment. We finished the morning off with a sausage sizzle that Mrs Clark and the other adults prepared for us.
